It all begins with PSP Accessories

January 28th, 2009

Just like all consoles, the playstation portable connects with more than just games. While its chief function is video game enjoyment, this enjoyment can come in many different shapes and sizes. PSP accessories number in the hundreds, and are released yearly by both Sony and numerous third-party companies. PSP accessories help games make the most of their PSP systems; accessories add comfort, convenience and a sense of adventure to an otherwise middle-of-the-road gaming experience. In fact, for most gaming systems, accessories are the factors that tempt gamers to buy particular devices over the others, and for the PSP, developers are only just beginning to explore the potential of Sony’s portable PlayStation.

Adding Some Color

PSP accessories can be broken down into many categories. Firstly, there are those accessories that add to the actual game play. These include padding for the controller, headsets for internal communication for certain games, audio splitters for headphones and even AV cables that connect the PSP to a television for large-screen entertainment. Additional USB cables can also be purchased so players can keep their PSP systems updated via the internet, especially when they do not have wireless internet connections. The PSP itself comes with built-in wireless capability, an accessory that comes pre-packaged with every system and opens a whole new world of game downloads and demos.

Other PSP accessories, while not designed to directly affect actual game play, help increase the enjoyment of game play. These include ac adaptors, car adaptors, battery packs, large memory sticks and battery chargers. With these PSP accessories, gamers can play longer and play harder without having to worry about memory or power; unlike regular video game systems, portable devices are limited by their wireless technology.

Many PSP accessories are also available to protect the PSP from the elements, and to repair slight damages. Cases come in all colors and materials; nylon cases help carry the PSP and organize games, while hard-shelled cases protect the PSP from any number of accidents. A lot of systems aimed for cleaning are available and they will keep both games and the system working well. PSP] will always look good.

Aside from the normal PSP accessories a player can expect from most gaming systems, other accessories debut every year at video game conventions. From GPS devices to keyboards, cameras to shock packs, PSP accessories offer infinite possibilities and experiences. This video game console is quite small but has a large potential, not to mention developers that are to work even more in the future.

While playing on your Nintendo you might want to consider learning to set CSS Background for your web page or maybe check out some high quality spy stuff. You might also want to take a look at some weird gadgets.

The Personal Digital Assistant or PDA

January 26th, 2009
by Michael Erikson

In today’s world, it is not feasible to stay out of touch. There are appointments to keep and calls to make. There are emails that cannot go unanswered. You have to be able to edit and send documents while being on the go. Try a PDA as a way to help you stay in touch with the world. It has all of the properties of a computer, but is compact so you can carry it with you at all times.

There’s a whole lot of free pda software out there that you can download, e.g pda games and other freeware. What does PDA stand for? It stands for personal digital assistant, and is just what is sounds like. Some of the PDA’s even have GPS as a standard feature.

It was an evolution in the making. It started out as a basic device about the size of a calculator and had the most basic of functions. Later models added the feature of being able to see one line of text, yet have since evolved into personal hand held assistants that can email, browse the internet, organize your daily events and files and even play multimedia games.

Microsoft’s PDA operating system is called Windows mobile, and many hardware manufacturers wants to support the Pocket PC hardware specification to run windows mobile. The previous versions ran on Windows Mobile 5, but have since upgraded to Windows Mobile 6. Windows Mobile 5 was a great relief to PDA owners.

The Windows mobile Smartphone is a combination of the cell phone and the personal digital assistant. The PC software is there in the cell phone so it can be used as a personal computer when on the go. It was this evolution of the cell phone that had many companies altering their selling tactics. Most companies elected not to pursue the pocket PC, since Smartphones were becoming more of a mainstream choice.

Fixing The Xbox 360 3 Red Lights Issue

January 26th, 2009

Your Xbox game is showing the 3 flashing red lights and does nothing else. This means you need to do something about it. With all the cheap, free and expensive tutorials out there for this problem, not many have proven to work effectively. It has nothing to do with personal ability to follow the guides, but it has to do with clear and concise instructions. A proper directed set of videos could do the trick very effectively.

It is not safe and can be damaging to your console if you solely rely on following instructions from an Xbox repair guide with pictures only. Best option to fix the 3 red lights is to go for a repair guide that has video instructions with proper directives.

You should identify the cause of the Xbox problem before you go all mechanic on the console. If you start fixing a wrong problem correctly, you might actually make things worse.

Microsoft standard report suggests that the 3 red lights issue is generally related to overheating of the gaming console. The device freezes to stop further damage from taking place inside the console. If this is the case, you can remove the 3 red lights problem once and for all using the video instructions from a good repair guide.

There is a disadvantage to using a repair guide purchased online for this problem: the warranty is not viable anymore. If the Xbox 360 three flashing red lights problem is with the hardware, you have made a bad mistake by fixing the overheating problem which wasn’t a problem in the first place.

Even with the drawback, you should realize that it costs more to send your console to Microsoft to get it fixed. And the worst part is that it takes longer than 4 weeks for them to fix and send the console back. Moreover, they don’t guarantee that the fix will be permanent. How screwed up is that?

I’d just look for an online repair guide that has the answer to my problems. I wouldn’t follow the free solutions that are loafing around youtube and all. They have proven to destroy many consoles according to forums and discussion groups. Many suggest that it’s cheaper to just purchase an Xbox 360 repair guide that costs less than $30.

If there are too many bonuses, it only means they are trying to fix poor quality of their repair guide with many other bonuses to be worth the money. One screwed up guide is not worth the bonuses either.

Amazon Kindle vs. Sony Reader: The 2008 Review

January 25th, 2009
by Jack Andrew

It isn’t easy to decide between the Sony Reader and the Amazon Kindle! Both devices have their own ardent fan bases, and the best you can do is to evaluate the facts on both devices before you decide.

The price is the first aspect to consider when shopping for ebook readers. In this case the prices for both ebook readers aren’t very different. The Kindle is priced at $359 right now. The PRS700 is Sony’s Newest Model is priced at about $400, which is only about $40 more. With either model, you’re going to pay, but the Kindle is the best buy in terms of price.

Another crucial factor is the amount of content available for both readers. In this aspect, the Amazon Kindle, which has more than 190,000 books available online at the point of writing as well as an impressive collection of newspapers, blogs and magazines, is clearly the superior choice. In comparison, the Sony device has only 60,000 titles although the number is expected to increase to 100,000 by early 2009. Another weak point of the Sony device is that it does not offer the ability to download newspapers, magazines or blogs from the online store.

The next issue that may be of concern is the visual aspects of each. Which one provides a better visual experience when reading or when displaying information to others? Because both readers make use of the e-ink technology, the experience is similar to that of reading from regular paper. You feel like you are reading from the pages of a traditional book and you are less likely to suffer from eyestrain.

If you consider the looks of the devices, the Sony Reader definitely looks better. The biggest complaint against the Kindle is its ugly looks-it looks as if it was designed in the late 90s. In contrast, the Sony Reader 700 has a slick, iPod-like look that would be expected for device that debuted in 2008.

While we are on the topic of design, the Sony Reader features a touch screen display which the Kindle lacks. Unfortunately, the touch screen feature seems to detract from the quality of the Sony Reader’s display. Because the touch screen layer was superimposed on top of the e-ink screen layer, the contrast and “real book” feel are lacking on the Sony as opposed to the Kindle. In a side-by-side comparison of the two, you would probably notice better contrast and sharpness on the Kindle.

Both of these ebook readers allow you to make the font size of the book you are reading bigger. This is a really great thing if you have a hard time reading print that is too small. One slight advantage that the Sony Reader 700 has over the Amazon Kindle in terms of readability is the LED backlight for reading in low-light environments. On the surface this sounds great-no more need for a clip-on light but not so fast. Reviews of the Sony Reader have reported that the light does a poor job of lighting the screen and in some cases makes it harder to read because it affects the contrast and visibility of the text.

Since no one wants to carry around a big, bulky device, you’ll also be pleased to know that both units only weigh in at about 10 ounces. That is about the weight of some paperbacks! This makes them easy to travel with and easy to carry while reading. Still, the Sony reader is a little bit smaller than the Kindle, which can be good and bad depending on how you look at it.

One of the more important features for some users is the ease of getting the downloaded content onto your ebook reader. The Kindle blows the Sony Reader out of the water in this respect. The Sony requires you to download the file to the computer then use a USB cable to transfer files to you reader before you can acess them. The Kindle handles the task by itself thanks to the free wireless capabilities. Its as easy as connecting to the store, finding the content you would like, click a few buttons, and then enjoy your reading. The Kindle definitely outshines the Sony Reader in this category.

Storage space is something else that you really need to consider. Both readers offer plenty of storage space for the average user with the ability to store over 200 books. If you tend to buy a lot of books or need to reference many different ones you might want to consider the Sony Reader. It holds more books than the Kindle and it also supports larger external memory cards giving it far more storage capacity than the Kindle.

And finally and most importantly, it is within your great interest to take responsibility for managing the eBook formats you choose to utilize on each device. Although both tools have been designed to work with their own proprietary formats, only the Amazon reader also interfaces with the highly preferred MOBI file format. So if you have MOBI files, your choice of readers is a no-brainer.

Now, the two best ebook readers on the market have been compared. Everybody has different tastes and needs, so when you shop around, be sure to consider all the features. The Amazon Kindle has the capability to become wireless, and is one of the best readers due to the wide variety of content available for it.

Download Unlimited Wii Games

January 25th, 2009

Can I download Wii games online? Most people choose to download Wii games online mainly because it is easier to find the games they want online than in the shops around, you can download anytime you like. Downloading Wii games online is much cheaper than buying Wii game after game from the shops. Nintendo Wii is a awesome gameplay console supported with modern unseen piece of controllers with a very vast range of games, however, keep buying these games might be very expensive to you in the long term.

There are many new Nintendo Wii sites in the internet now that offer you chances to download unlimited wii games online with much lower price than buying them. There are different types of download sites though so be careful. If you’re looking to just download 1 or 2 Wii games, pay per download sites will fit your choice while there are also sites that offer unlimited downloads for only 1 time payment for unlimited lifetime access.

The membership fee is so cheap that it is only the price of a Wii game or maybe a little more, no outrageous addtional charges or monthly fees. Also there are also illegal free torrent download sites which I would advise you to keep away from, as not only are they not legal but definitely contain tons of trojans and spyware.

A good download site will not only offer Wii games, but also movies and songs that are compatible with your Wii. Also from a good site you’ll receive a number of great options such as easy step by step guides on how to find and download the game of your choice, as well as all the tools and software needed to transfer and burn your games ready to play on your Wii, and whats more a trusted site will have 24/7 customer support in case you have any problems.

I have done a very very honest review site where you can download Nintendo Wii games online.

Keep Important Office Documents Protected

January 22nd, 2009
by Leo Tenskyville

In todays world, no one is safe from the prospect of theft. One of the primary targets for thieves is personal information like bank accounts, social insurance numbers and birthdays. With this information it is easy for thieves to steal an identity. Likewise, any company that generates new products or ideas needs to take steps to keep their information safe from their competition.

Take a step towards protecting yourself by placing a password on your documents. This will stop anyone from accessing them without permission. Adding a password to a document is pretty easy, and once you know how you just have to remember to add a password to every sensitive document you own to make them safe.

Those who run an office should consider setting an office-wide policy of protecting important information, as doing so will protect your company from liability should files or even a computer go missing or get stolen. Any clients you have will expect you to keep their information safe. In any MS Office 2007 program you can protect your document by doing the following:

In the top left-hand corner select the Office Button Mouse over Prepare, then choose Encrypt Document Type in your password and click Save

Older versions of MS Office additionally have password protection available, the instructions are just different:

With your document open, go to File | Save As At the top of the Save As screen select Tools | General Options You will be presented with a Save Options screen Enter a password to open / password to modify or both and click OK You will be prompted to re-enter your password(s), click OK when done Save the file

You will want to record your passwords; otherwise you will not be able to open your documents!

Finally you need to ensure that should your hard drive malfunction or get wiped clean by a power surge that you don’t lose all the files that you have worked so hard to protect. Backing up your files gives you a second chance at the files you need if something happens to your computer.

There are a few different ways to back-up your files:

1) CD-ROM: copying your files to a CD-ROM is simple and quick. Keep in mind that you’ll need to make a new CD regularly so your files are up-to-date.

2) USB Flash Drive: You can quickly copy files to small flash drive and keep it with you or in a safe place. Remember to regularly back-up your files so that they are as recent as possible if something should happen, and password protect the drive in case you should lose it

3) Online Storage: Storing your files online is safe and easy, with the added bonus that your files are available wherever you are in the world. For a small monthly fee you will have a folder set aside on a secure sever that only you can access.

Option Of An Internal Or External DVD Burner

January 22nd, 2009

Internal DVD burner is a must have items for people who really like music, gaming, movies or any other thing that can be burned onto a DVD. DVDs have, in fact, overcome CDs altogether. Compared to a rewritable CD, they offer more burning space per disc. You can burn everything using an internal DVD burner. So, it is important to have an internal DVD burner.

Whether you have a desktop or a laptop, an internal DVD burner is probably already installed. But this is possible that you might find yourself with an internal DVD burner that no longer works and is just taking up valuable space. If you find yourself in this position, there are a few options you have. First, you can simply replace the computer altogether. But unless this is something you’ve already planned on doing, it’s probably not the best option for you.

External and internal DVD burners are the other available options for you. Every option has pros and cons. It all depends on which will work best for your situation. When deciding whether an external or an internal DVD burner is the best choice for you, you need to take some things into consideration. They are the space, budget, quality and ultimately what you need the DVD burner for.

External DVD Burners

If you have some extra space, then this is your best bet. You want to share the DVD burner with other computers and/or you want some extra features that wouldn’t fit in your internal slot (such as a dual burner). You don’t need a lot of extra space since external burners aren’t usually too big. However, whether it’s a desktop or a laptop, you must be alright with an extra component to your computer. Compared to laptops, desktop computers typically work better with external DVD burners because they’re stationary.

Internal DVD Burners

This is really an option for you if you simply want to substitute your internal DVD burner with a new one. But you do have to do some thinking if you’re aware of harming something in your computer in the process of replacing it. In most cases, unless there is a specific need to have an external burner, an internal DVD burner is really the best way to go.

In fact, internal DVD burners are also owned by many consumers who do make use of external DVD burners. External burners are easier to replace (just plug and use). So, before deciding if it fits your needs, it may be a good idea to try a lower end model. For internal DVD burners, purchase quality products is a must. In this way, you can limit the number of times it needs to be substituted with the new internal DVD burner.

January 21st, 2009
by Addie Jabat

A computer that is 5 years old or more can still perform like brand new if you only know how to take care of it. Well, taking care of a computer is just simple. Just the basic things, use the computer properly, get some softwares for computer maintenance, and run various programs that are needed to be run to ensure computer’s smooth performance.

Specifically, remember to:

* Follow the rule in shutting down computers. Until Windows has shut down, never turn your computer off with the power switch. Doing so will prevent temporary and/or permanent hard drive defects as well as prevent Windows problems.

* Maintain free space of 300 MB in your drive C. If you use Vista or Windows XP then make it 400-600 MB. Be aware that not maintaining enough free space for your drive C will cause the dumping of data to your hard drive that will eventually lead to slow performance.

* Secure Norton Utilities to get access of Cleansweep so you can clean up your drive for good computer performance. There are some other hard drive cleaners out there, so if you don’t like using Cleansweep you are free to go for other options.

* Make use of the Add/Delete tool in the Windows Control Panel to get rid of the programs that are not anymore needed from your drive. This will help boost maximum performance of your computer.

* Get a firewall program in case you have a high speed Internet connection. Doing so will keep your computer away from hijackers. You shouldn’t want somebody else run your computer.

* Have a virus checker in your computer and run it frequently. Viruses can seriously slow down your computer’s performance or worst destroy your hard drive permanently. You can try Norton Antivirus or those free online virus checkers like Housecall by Trend Micro.

* Run the Defragment and Scandisk tools even just once a month. Doing so will keep your hard drive healthy. Be aware that if your hard drive is healthy, your computer will also perform at its best.

* In times like your computer starts to show symptoms for a serious registry trouble like for an instance freezes, hardware malfunctions, slow windows start ups, computer error messages, system32 error messages, and the like, secure a registry cleaner right away. There might be some errors and corrupt files in your registry. These errors and possible corrupt files will seriously compromise your computer’s performance.

January 18th, 2009
by Allen Strong

We have used the Internet widely since its inception. We have sent data, important and trivial alike, a thousand times through the series of tubes that encompass the entire world. The Internet is sure a great way to make sure we never get disconnected from the people that matter.

One of the many ways that we communicate using the Internet is through email. This is easily the most popular way of sending messages from one point in the globe to another. More and more people are getting and sending messages to friends, family, lovers or even complete strangers using this incredible method.

The great thing about email is that it allows us to share experiences not just through text messages but through other media as well. Recent developments in email technology enables us to send messages along with digital photographs, music or video so we can tell our loved ones the stories of our lives better.

One way email enables this kind of communication is through the use of attachments. These are a great way to make sure that whoever is receiving our mail, is also getting the benefit of the experience by letting him or her be in the same place using multimedia as us. Surely, it has become the next best thing to being there yourself.

Luckily there are packaging software that make sure that the data we send doesn’t get destroyed in the delivery. Archives such as RAR files compress and package our media and protect it from any harm. The email program makes sure that the data gets to their destination, and the RAR archives make sure they get there intact.

Now you can package your attachments safely and be confident with the knowledge that its going to reach its destination intact. All you have to do is Google some keywords and you can create or open archives like RAR files anywhere through the use of websites that offer the service for free.

Keeping Your Computer Up To Speed With Registry Repairs

January 18th, 2009
by Ed Lathrop

Back in the Windows 95/98 days, computer viruses and spyware were the biggest stumbling blocks to smooth computing. However, now there is a new computer enemy in town. Its name is registry corruption.

With today’s operating systems being so enormous compared to the old Windows 95/98 size, a corrupt registry gets in the way of our computing more than it used to. Though there are new viruses that come out every day, our technology seems to be able to keep up with them better than in years past. Also, computer operators are better educated as to how to keep a virus from being executed on their computer.

How and why do we concern ourselves with registry corruption and what will happen to our computers if we don’t? These are the topics we will talk about in this article.

Operating System Invaders

Whenever we install a new program or driver on our computer, we add many, maybe even hundreds of thousands of entries to our registry. When this program or driver is deleted or even upgraded, these entries, though they are no longer used, still remain in place in the registry. These entries are a type of registry corruption because they make the operating system work harder to get where it needs to go.

Temporary computer files are added to our registries by the boatload when we surf the Internet. Unfortunately, these files are left in the registry when we are through surfing and then they become registry corruption because they give the operating system directions to nowhere.

Believe it or not viruses, spyware, adware and all the other kinds of malware, though they are unwanted programs, are viable software programs so, when they are removed, they too leave registry corruption behind.

It is important to realize this registry corruption wears on your computer’s operating system. It taxes the OS by giving it more work to do as it lumbers through all these false pointers registry corruption is made of. This of course, will slow down computer operations greatly and after a while it will cause the computer to crash.

So, What Do I Do?

Everything finding its way on to our harddrive these days is whole lot bigger than the things that were around a few years back. Software, drivers, temporary Internet files, spyware, viruses and even the operating systems themselves dwarf the size of their predecessors. It is no wonder that when left alone our registries become corrupted and slow down our computers until they come to a complete halt!

It is easy enough to take care of registry corruption, just install a good registry cleaner on your computer and run it periodically. The best time to run a registry cleaner is after spyware has been removed. You do have a good spyware cleaner installed on your computer; don’t you?
