Quick And Easy Steps To Improve PC Performance

June 22nd, 2009

Best Registry Cleaner Review Site offers a truly free registry scan.

Have you been having problems with your computer system lately? Perhaps it has happened over time and you really didn’t recognize the truth that it was slowing down and the faults were accumulating ’til it was just about beyond control.  Don’t rush to blame the problem on the system itself since it could be a problem that’s taking place in the Windows registry.  It may be time to scan Windows registry for free. The fact is, a lot of people endure these kind of computer problems because of registry errors without ever really understandiong what is happening.

Although many people don’t realize it, a part of your computer is constantly running in the background and is responsible for practically every operation that it makes.  This is your Windows registry, a somewhat little known section of your system that even computer techs usually will not enter.  Over the course of time, information is placed in and removed from the Windows registry and frequently, errors can begin to compile.  This will create a variety of issues with our systems that will require attention.  If you’re experiencing any of the following problems with the computer, you might want to consider running a registry scan to find out if the registry is the source of your troubles.

Poor Computer Performance – Can you recall when you first carried your computer home from the store?  There’s no doubt that you were impressed with how quickly it processed files. Whatever you told it to do was done in a couple of ticks.  The time it took for your system to start up was much shorter than today.  Although computers do slow down over time for a variety of different reasons, if you are beginning to see very poor performance out of your computer, the Windows registry may be the culprit.

Troubles with Hardware – It is not only the software and performance of your system that can cause trouble if the Windows registry is corrupted.  Windows registry is necessary for running programs on our system. It also helps to regulate the physical hardware of our computer in a number of different ways.  If problems are occurring, it might be simply a matter of fixing the Windows registry as oppossed to a costly replacement of the hardware itself.

System Lock-Ups – This is one of the most frustrating things that can occur when you are using a computer.  Everything is running smoothly and then without warning everything locks-up and there is no recourse but to re-boot.  Commonly known as a computer lock-up, it can take quite some time for your computer to free itself up, if it ever does.  Often the only thing that you can do is to press and hold the off button to restart.

System Crashes – If your system crashes, it shuts down without any prior warning and anything that you’re working on is lost forever. Everything’s gone. All you can do is restart your computer and hope for the best.

Error Messages – The final problem that may occur due to Windows registry problems are scary error messages on your monitor.  Such messages typically mean that the registry is either missing info that it is looking for or is finding info that doesn’t belong there.

Although it is possible for you to clean the Windows registry yourself, it is usually not something that’s suggested. An error made in this area of your computer can render it unrepairable. It’s usually a much better idea to download a Windows Registry cleaner and allow it to do the dirty work for you. Considering the consequences, such programs are relatively inexpensive and certainly worth the small expense.  As long as you choose the correct one, it will be a seamless procedure that will take only a few minutes.

Your selection will be aided by using the best Registry Cleaner Review web site.

Two things that you should require in a Windows Registry cleaner are an ability to back-up the registry prior to repairs being made and the option to have the cleaner make repairs independently or to allow you to choose which ones will take place.

Almost all Windows Registry cleaners are free to download and scan.  This will let you determine if the registry is really the problem before you put down your credit card.

Finally, the best registry cleaner should include the option to scan your registry on an ongoing basis in order to identify problems before they get serious.  This should allow you to correct any problems that may happen due to registry errors from building up and causing trouble again.

Popups and Spyware Protection Need Better Tools Than Google and MSN Toolbars !

June 16th, 2009

This article describes the disadvantages of relying on freeware to block popups, in the wider context of adware and spyware protection.

Adware are commonly defined as any type of software which plays, displays or downloads advertisements on computers. Some adware are also known as spyware because they invade the users’ privacy by obtaining then sharing some of their personal information without their knowledge.

Adware popups have become a common irritation for most users and many are now looking for free ways to disable them. For many users, using free popup blockers such as the Google and MSN toolbars is the preferred solution. Unfortunately only a minority of users think about the relationship between popup ads and spyware, and even fewer think about spyware protection and prevention beyond blocking popups whilst browsing. Yet experience shows that both the removal of adware and spyware, as well their prevention are necessary steps to protect users privacy, preserve the integrity of their systems and enable a pleasant on line experience. By contrast, simply blocking popups whilst browsing creates a false sense of security. This is the consequence of the real major problem with popups, which is not so much that they are an irritation, but rather the manifestation of spyware attacks. This issue is clearly evidenced by the many popups which can appear, even when computers are disconnected from the internet.

Changing the browser settings is free and a step in the right direction

Blocking adware popups whilst browsing is easy enough. Changing the privacy settings so that popups can no longer appear on screen can be done as follows:

·      Select Control Panel in your computer

·      Click on the Internet Options icon

·      Click on the Privacy tab.

·      There is a box next to “Turn on Pop Up Blocker”.

·      Tick this box and you will block adware popups.

Once the settings have been changed, users should adjust the privacy levels on their computer. Another option is to download the MSN and Google toolbars. Security when browsing the Internet can be improved when using these toolbars. For more information, click on free popup blockers.

But, what about achieving full protection? Are most users seeing the bigger picture?

Unfortunately most users focus on just blocking adware popups, and forget that their computer is probably already infected with adware and spyware. Popup blocker software, like those which user can access with the Google and MSN toolbars, are undoubtedly useful, however they only deal with one aspect of protection against privacy invasion, and threats to computer integrity. For more information click on block spyware.

Thinking more broadly about ways to safeguard the users’ privacy and protect the integrity of their system against the danger of adware and spyware attacks is both wise and necessary. In addition to running an anti-virus software that is up to date, users should remove the spyware and adware on their computer. Often adware and spyware are downloaded without the users’ knowledge.

The most popular adware and spyware removal tools can both block and get rid of adware and spyware. The most popular adware and spyware removal programs are constantly being kept up to date as they rely on research teams to update the software in order to deal with the latest threats as they first occur. Using adware and spyware removal programs, which can also block popups, deals with the root causes of the problem rather than just the symptoms of adware and spyware attack. This method is therefore far superior than just relying on free popup blocker programs. For more information click on adware spyware removal.

Popups and Spyware Protection? Why Users Should Not Just Rely on the Google and MSN Toolbars!

June 14th, 2009

This article exposes the downside of relying on free software to block popup ads in the wider context of adware and spyware protection.

A common definition for adware is that of any software which runs, displays or downloads ads on computers. Some adware are also known as spyware because they invade the users’ privacy by obtaining then sharing some of their personal information without their knowledge.

Adware popups have become a common irritation for most users and many are now looking for free ways to disable them. Many users do not think twice before relying on the free popup blocking functionality provided by the Google or MSN toolbar. Only a minority of users know about the link between popups and spyware, and even fewer still, take the right steps to protect themselves. Most users only concentrate on blocking popups. Yet experience shows that both the removal of adware and spyware, as well their prevention are necessary steps to protect users privacy, preserve the integrity of their systems and enable a pleasant on line experience. This contrasts with the false sense of security which can result from just relying on blocking popups.

Another option is to use the MSN or Google toolbar. Both toolbars will improve security when users browse the Internet. For more information, click on free popup blockers.

But, what about achieving complete protection? Are most users missing the bigger picture?

Users who seek to block adware popups, often forget that there is a high likelihood that their computer has already been infected with adware and spyware. Popup blocker software, like those which user can access with the Google and MSN toolbars, are undoubtedly useful, however they only deal with one aspect of protection against privacy invasion, and threats to computer integrity. For more information click on block spyware.

It is highly advisable, to think more broadly about the methods to safeguard the users privacy, and the integrity of their computers against the threat of adware and spyware attacks. Users should, in addtion, run the latest version of their anti-virus software, then eliminate adware and spyware using appropriate tools. Adware and spyware are frequently downloaded without the users’ knowledge.

Getting rid of adware and spyware is easily achieved with the most popular adware and spyware removal programs, which can also block popup ads. The most popular adware and spyware removal software are frequently updated and rely on research teams to detect and review the latest adware and spyware. Adware and spyware removal software can also block malicious programs . This approach is therefore more effective than the reliance on free popup blockers. Just How Good Is Registry Fix V7.1?

June 13th, 2009

Computer threats are continuously on the rise bringing havoc to computer registries and slowing down computers around the globe, and as a result of this, registry repair software need to adapt continuously. In this article we share the outcome of one of the latest Registry Fix reviews. Tests were carried out by our testing team (Click on registry fix review for more information).

In the main, Registry Fix has been one of the most popular solution Clickbank (largest digital market place), and achieved over 13 million downloads. We wanted to establish if Registry V7.1 was actually as good as the software vendors make it.

Our conclusions are based upon our independent tests, which covered scanning, detecting, resolving registry errors, and optimising computer performance, with a focus on the most common errors: Missing startup programs, invalid device drivers, invalid application paths, missing dll files, missing help files, missing system fonts, ActiveX component errors and other common causes of registry corruption.

Over 13 million downloads to date, now that our review is complete we understand why! Our review used several computers each with comparable characteristics to many computers today: Each computer was equipped with an up to date version of their anti-virus program. Each computer had been in service for a period ranging from between 10 and 12 months, and from a software standpoint, each computer had had in the region of 25 additional software installed on them and in the region of 15 removed programs since they were first used.

731 issues were actually detected during one of the test we performed. Our testers drew attention to the fact that, one advantage of Registry Fix is that it resolves much more than a few errors and that it had great capability in optimising computer performance. (Click on registry fix review for more information).

During the Registry Fix review our testers verified that the free Trial Version Actually Solves Problems Too -  Registry Fix trial version can resolve up to 45 problems. Fixing problems with a free version of the software is a truly great feature, which exceeds many of competitor’s free version capability.

The statement that “Registry Fix repair problems in 1 Click” is actually true - The most common challenge after finding Registry errors,  is usually to establish what caused them. Without software, this involves sifting through the registry line after line. Fixing 731 errors manually would have been impractical. Instead, our testers simply used the “Repair Problems” button in Registry Fix to resolve any issue which had been detected by the scan. Very quickly, Registry Fix completed the scan of the registries and resolved the root causes of errors.

Registry Fix V7.1 provides excellent value for money. The trial version is free and the single user licence only costs $37 for the basic package.

Registry Fix V7.1 solves many other problems too - Our tester were impressed by the fact that Registry Fix V7also repair a lot more than just a few errors.Registry Fix can either run at pre-set times of ad-hoc. The automatic backup functionality means that users should minimize the risk of losing files, even when faced with serious computer problems.

Conclusion -Registry Fix V7.1 remains an impressive piece of software amongst the most popular programs on Clickbank. Click on registry fix review for additional information.

How Can Anyone Tell If A Computer Optimization Software is Really Proven in Less Than 15 Minutes?

June 12th, 2009

Overview - This article describes a fast method that anyone can use to independently assess the popularity of any computer optimization software (e.g. Registry fix software, registry cleaner software, error fixing software etc..). It also uses the real life example of a website dedicated to help users fix computer errors, which has already adopted this method for screening relevant software for further review.

Readers should understand that the method referred to in this article is new and imperfect, yet presents a distinct advantage over most other alternatives.

The problem - Never has the choice of computer optimization programs been so large, yet most computer users do not tend to rely on impartial information to verify the popularity of computer optimization software before buying their preferred solution. This is a problem because computer optimization software, which are not popular may be new, unproven or both and are therefore riskier than more popular ones.

The options - Most users still rely on forums. This method is problematic, in that forums only provide anecdotal evidence of the popularity of any software, another challenge is the risk that participants will promote their own products using forums rather than share any independent perspective.

Software vendors’ sites provide another method. An obvious challenge with this method is that vendors are not independent and that they will always present their software in the best possible way.

Another method is to rely on an independent site, which compares different computer optimization software in the same family, for instance Anti-Virus software, Registry Cleaning Software, Anti Adware/ Spyware software etc…. The problem with this method is that 99% of these sites go straight into the details of the technical features, and that they do not give an independent perspective of the popularity of the products they are comparing, as they lack the data to do so.

So what is the method, which can empower the users to establish the popularity of any computer optimization software independently? (click on registry fix software example)

15 Minutes Method - A superior method is to look at the data provided by digital market places such as Clickbank for example, which is the largest of them all. Digital market places are now selling many of the most popular computer optimization software and also give these software an indicator of popularity often called Gravity. Put simply, this indicator is linked to the number of sales transactions made for a particular software over a period of time. Software vendors have no influence on the Gravity measure that Clickbank calculate and compare across any range of digital products. However imperfect, Gravity is a good independent measure of popularity. Any users can independently check the popularity of any computer optimization software by checking out Clickbank or another digital marketplace. Eventhough this method also has its own limitation (some Computer Optimization Software may not be sold through Clickbank), the fact remains that it is one of the most accessible method of independent review today.

Example - Some software review sites have adopted this method and are now referring to the Clickbank popularity of the digital products that they are also reviewing independently (Click on fix registry errors for a live example).

Repair Windows Registry

June 8th, 2009

Best Registry Cleaner Review (and Windows Registry Basics)

The Windows Registry is just a constantly expanding database in every Microsoft Windows operating system that stores all settings, options, preferences, and hardware options of the user. It keeps expanding each time you boot Windows. Each time your computer starts, it always notifies the registry to let every installed software know the settings, documents, program paths, and a bunch of other stuff. The registry gradually gets bloated unecessary stuff this way, and this slowly leads to a degradation in the computer’s performance.

Each time you put a new program on your computer and, later, delete a piece of software, little bits of it will stay in the Windows registry record as well.

This is the problem — Once you’ve instituted changes to the registry, you can’t undo it without specialized applications (or manual editing).

Doing a manual edit of the registry is a disaster and isn’t a job a novice wants to try. Think of it this way: the most desireable registry is still an unmolested registry.

Ever since Windows 95, the majority of programs will deliberately leave behind entries in the registry for a variety of reasons, that aren’t uninstalled during an uninstall. This registry “stuff” continues to gather until a registry cleaner program is used to get clean it out.

Another thing to keep in mind, many computer malfunctions may help screw up the registry.

The criteria of an excellent registry cleaner

Registry cleaning software are supposed to check the registry, locate, and remove any unneeded entries it holds. But that’s the perfects situation. The reality is, there isn’t a flawless registry cleaner. Every registry cleaner has several complex formulas which help them “identify” which is a vital key and what is junk. There is no method of forseeing if deleting a registry key will impact system performance in subtle ways. Therefore, any good registry cleaner needs to let the user to backup your registry before you begin repairing the registry.

Here’s a manual way to back-up the registry very simply:

Click Start – Run
Type in the words – regedit (which opens up the registry editor window)
From the box, hit File – Export
Save it as something you can remember, preferably including the date

When you look around, there are actually 4 kinds of registry cleaners:

Deep scanning registry cleaners
Surface scan registry cleaners
Balanced scan registry cleaners
Virus infected registry cleaners

A deep cleaner can be dangerous to your computer since it might delete some important registry keys by being overzealous. A light scanning program, isn’t much use either; it simply scans the surface. A bogus registry cleaner is dangerous, since it is spyware disguised as a registry cleaner. Don’t download something just because it’s free!

The “best” registry cleaner is one that:

Defrags your registry
Allows backups of the registry
Asks you if you would like to delete a certain entry and provides solutions
Perform other spin-off tasks BESIDES registry work

Rather than simply putting up with the snail-like speed of your computer and the never-ending system failures, you can actually do something about it.  Do yourself a favor and get yourself a recommended registry cleaner.  It will help your computer run as smoothly and efficiently as the day you first brought it home.

Becoming annoyed with my computer

June 5th, 2009

Like most people I have at some points become frustrated with my computer. Until latley though the issue was becoming ridiculous. The PC was going so slow it was painful and it was always crashing. In fact if I were to compare my computer to how it was when I first got it, I would say it was 80% slower. In fact my computer was so slow it reminded me of my old spectrum which I used to leave to load up while I did something else.

Anyway having endured the problems with the computer for several months I finally snapped and decided that I was either going to fix the computer or buy a new one. With computer being expensive items I decided to pay serious attention to the concept of fixing the computer. I began, as most people would do, by searching the Internet. Having searched the net and read lots of articles I put together a list of possible soultions. The first and clearly most obvious solution to the problem was to “De-Frag” the computer's hard drive. I did this but it had little effect. The next solution to the slow computer issue was to remove any viruses or spy ware that my be on the computer. I ran a program called AVG anti virus to do this and it did have an effect on the computer with it running a fair bit better afterwards. The computer was still not as good it it once was though so I moved on to the last possible solution which was to scan the computer for registry errors. Having run a free registry check, the registry checker I used identified around about one hundred and twenty errors. It cost me thirty dollars for the software to fix the errors but it worked quickly and made a significant difference to the speed of my computer. I guess the lesson is that if you are prepared to put the time in, repairing your computer you can save a lot of money.
